This workbook supports emotional expression and healing through creative means, with an emphasis on the process rather than the final product. No previous art experience is required. The workbook contains 28 different mandala directives.

Freya's Tears

Freya's Tears is the third collection of poetry and art by Mia Barkan Clarke. It includes translations into Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, and Swedish. Freya, the Norse goddess of love, lust, magic, war, and death, is the source of my inspiration for this series and my personal muse. She is loved and desired by all, yet she longs only for Odin, the "All Father," King of the gods, who is absent, fighting battles across the universe. She sits and waits for Odin, crying tears of red-gold, alone on her golden throne with her two faithful cats by her side. It is said that the amber stones found on the shores of the Baltic Sea are called "Freya's Tears," which gave birth to the name of this series. Tea with Nana is a book of paintings and poems created throughout the life of a woman who, from an early childhood on Long Island, was surrounded by her artist mother's paintings and her poet-publisher father's books. This book is an exploration of her inner and outer world, spanning local and international settings, through English and several other languages (Hebrew, French, Italian). In a very real sense, it is a cross-cultural journey from birth and childhood through girlhood, adolescence, and maturation as an extraordinarily sensitive and thoughtful woman, wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, friend, teacher, and therapist. Her range is from Eve to Sister of the World, from her Jewish culture through the world cultures that include the Armenian, the Sicilian, and the Blackfoot. This book is an exploration of Woman in all her phases and history, from the beginning to the present with a view toward the future. In every sense, it is the saga of a woman who is Everywoman.
